Here are a few screen shots from one of my favorite films.
A celebration of life and of vision. The camera is a new kind of eye that opens the world up to us in ways that our flawed eyes do not. The “man” with the movie camera is a nameless figure that is empowered and freed by the technology to follow whatever impulses he might have. The focus is more on the eye of the camera than it is on the choices that the “man” behind it is making. This a quintessential “modernist” film that gave birth to self-reflective, postmodern cinema.
This is a movie camera.
This is what a movie camera can do.
This is how the movie camera does it.
